Brendon Hartley confirmed for rest of 2017 F1 season

27-year-old Brendon Hartley impressed team bosses in his debut F1 outing in America on October 22 (US time), even outperforming team mate Daniil Kvyat in terms of speed in the latter half of the race – an astonishing achievement considering he hadn’t driven an open wheeler since 2012.

Toro Rosso has confirmed that Kvyat will not return to the team and Hartley will drive in the final three races of the season in Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

It’s not going to be easy, as Hartley is also under contract with Porsche and has two races (Shanghai and Bahrain) remaining in the World Endurance Championship in which to contend.

Hartley is the first kiwi to drive in Formula One since 1984 and it’s looking like he has a very bright future in what is the highest level of circuit racing.
