People of the Hop
Whangamata, November 25 to 29. Tens of thousands of people jammed into Whangamata for the rescheduled 20th anniversary Repco Beach Hop. After a slow start at Waihi, Beach Hop was like a snowball; growing and gaining momentum by the hour. There were a lot of ‘best Beach Hop ever’ comments, and everywhere you looked there were happy smiling people making the most of actually being able to have fun with cars at a major rock ‘n’ festival.
